TRANSPORTER ROOM
Located on various decks are the Agamemnon’s six primary Transporter Rooms. The ship's transporter systems allow personnel and materials to be transported up to 40,000 km to ships, bases, planetary surfaces, or even to locations within the ship (known as "site-to-site transport").

The ship's transporter network also includes twenty emergency transporters located in key areas of the ship, and a network of twelve transporter emitter arrays.

The transporter is actually a matter-energy conversion device used to provide a convenient means of transportation.  The transporter briefly converts an object or person into energy, beams that energy to another locations, then reassembles the subject into its original form. Transporters are unable to fuction when deflector shields are operational. Mark V and Mark VI (which ceased being produced in 2356) transporters were unsafe for the transport of unstable bio-matter. This problem was corrected in the more recent Mark VII units.
